My mom needed a ride to work today and being the good son I am I told her that I would get up earlier than I usually do to get her into work at the time she likes to get there. So, on my way to get my mom, I noticed this Jeep coming in the opposite direction but crossing lanes and making a bee-line for my car. Not sure what was really going on and seeing that the car wasn't changing directions, I quickly swerved to my left, but alas, it was too late: the Jeep hit me. In shock, I smell something burning and decide to immediately get out of the car. The driver of the jeep, a 21 year old male, was just sitting there. I asked if he was okay and he said he couldn't move his neck. I go back into my car to find my cell phone to call 911. Luckily, there were plenty of witnesses who began to rush over and had already called 911. Long story short, the driver of the jeep was on his way home from work and had fallen asleep at the wheel. He wasn't wearing his seat belt, so his head cracked his window shield and he was rushed off to the hospital. Miraculously, I only suffered some airbag burns to my forearm and a sore back and neck. My car, however, may not be so lucky. I'll find out soon enough if it's fixable or if it will be time to look for a new car. Needless to say, it's been a day to count my blessings!
