On Valentine's Day, the kids woke up to their traditional heart-shaped baskets full of goodies. It was my first year not filling one for Lacey, which felt a little funny. But I did mail her a little something 💕
And Dave took me out to a very nice dinner at InGrano in Annapolis, which was lovely.
Here was my attempt at giving Dave a "bouquet" of Diet Coke and limes 🤣. Lacey gave me the idea....
Riley spent Valentines Day with a group of friends and I did her hair in a heart-shaped braid, something I do every year for my girls.
And then I decided to throw a "Galentines Party."
I invited 19 ladies, 11 of which were able to come. I asked everyone to bring a wrapped "Favorite Things" gift. After visiting and nibbling on V-day themed goodies, we sat in a big circle in my Sun Room and I had everyone draw a number 1-12. Then whoever drew "#1" went first and chose a gift at random. They opened it and then the person whose gift it was explained why that was one of their favorite things. Not everyone knew each other, so we also introduced ourselves and shared what we would do if we had one hour all to ourselves (something in very short supply for most of us at this stage of life!). About half the people I invited were what I would consider pretty close friends of mine and the other half were people I just wanted to reach out to in order to get to know better and who I thought could use an invite to a party full of food, fun, friends and laughter - always a winning combo. At the end, I gave everyone a party favor - fuzzy heart socks which were in all different colors and that I wrapped up in a cute V-day themed bag with a bow around it. It was a fun evening and I'm glad I did it!
