6 Month Update

I realize we haven't posted in the past week and half or so and quite honestly, the reason is because I've been reading everyone else's blogs about trips to Denmark, video footage of various occasions (which I have no idea how to do), etc. and I just couldn't think of anything that exciting in our lives right now! So, really the latest and greatest is this.... Lacey turned 6 months old. And in the lives of children, we acknowledge 1/2 birthdays, right? So there you go, a 6 month update..... She's just shy of 15 pounds now, rolling around, eating and learning how to entertain herself. And best of all..... SLEEPING! I don't mean to brag, but we get a 12 hour stretch almost every night! But considering I can't get the girl to take a nap for the life of me and considering the first three months were so brutal on the sleep-front I debated whether or not I could continue to live under the same roof, I've decided I deserve the 12-hour stretches! Besides, it frees up my nights to do blog-postings:)

Chi-town

Chicago...... what a city! We just returned home from a vacation to the Chicago area to visit Kerry's family over the 4th of July holiday. A few of our highlights were a day at Six Flags Great America (while "Grammy Net" watched Lacey), going to a Kane County Cougars game (the reason this was a highlight was because they were playing against Peoria, who is currently managed by none other than the one and only RYNE SANDBERG and Kerry is obsessed with all things Cubs) and spending a night in the city after going to the Taste of Chicago and taking some pictures by Buckingham Fountain. We even stayed in shape by running a 5K while we were there (or rather tried to off-set all of the eating we did!)
