On the 4th of July, we dragged our 2 week old baby and 17 month old out to see the fireworks because I LOVE fireworks and I really thought Lacey would enjoy them as well and in my humble opinion, no Independence Day is complete without a fireworks show. Well, we drove to Annapolis and proceeded to sit in our car while it POURED rain. After watching the torrential downpour for a half hour and listening to both kids scream because they were bored/tired/hungry, we called it a night and went home, sure that the fireworks would be cancelled anyway. We woke up the next morning only to find that the weather cleared up just long enough for them to do the fireworks, so it wasn't rescheduled and we missed it. That was a really long story just to say that ever since, I have been on the hunt for a fireworks show. Well, lo and behold, we have a AA minor league baseball team close by, the Bowie Baysox and they advertised that they were having fireworks after their game on Friday night! So, we picked up Grandpa Strom and headed out for a great night at the ballpark!

The next morning, we took Tanner to get his PasSPORT (see how this fits in with the theme!). No, we don't have any exciting travels planned, but we figured we might as well get him one just in case something does come up in the next 5 years :)

The following night, Dave, Tanner and I (Lacey stayed home with Nana) went to the Legg Mason Tennis Tournament in DC. Dave LOVES tennis and bought tickets to the semi-finals so that we could see Andy Roddick play. Unfortunately, Andy choked and lost his previous match, so we ended up seeing a couple of no-namers (Troicki vs Kunitsyn). Troicki is the one that beat Roddick and proceeded to win this match as well. Regardless, we had a great time and I loved seeing my first professional tennis match!

Dave next to the tour bus. He's pointing to the DC stop. Notice that the last stop is New York (the US Open) -- he'll be there too!
